حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي سَفَرٍ فَأَرَادَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ فَقَالَ لَهُ " أَبْرِدْ ". ثُمَّ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ فَقَالَ لَهُ " أَبْرِدْ ". ثُمَّ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ. فَقَالَ لَهُ " أَبْرِدْ ". حَتَّى سَاوَى الظِّلُّ التُّلُولَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم {إِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ}
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates: 'We were with the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) on a journey. The mu'adhdhin wanted to call the Adhan (for Zuhr), but the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Let it cool down. Then the mu'adhdhin again wanted to call the Adhan, and again he said: Let it cool down. Then again the mu'adhdhin wanted to call the Adhan, and again he said: Let it cool down - until the shadows of the hillocks equalled their size. Then the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: Indeed, the severity of heat is from the raging of Hellfire.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوذر غفاری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ہم نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ ایک سفر میں تھے۔ مؤذن نے (ظہر کی) اذان دینی چاہی تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ٹھنڈا ہونے دو۔ پھر مؤذن نے اذان دینی چاہی تو آپ نے پھر فرمایا: ٹھنڈا ہونے دو۔ پھر مؤذن نے اذان دینی چاہی تو آپ نے پھر فرمایا: ٹھنڈا ہونے دو۔ یہاں تک کہ ٹیلوں کے سائے ان کے برابر ہو گئے۔ پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: بیشک گرمی کی شدت جہنم کی بھاپ سے ہے۔
