It is narrated by Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) that the delegates of `Abd-ul-Qais came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and stated, "O the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) ! We are from the tribe of Rabi`a and the infidels of Mudar tribe stand between us and you, so that we cannot come to you except in the Sacred Months. Therefore we would like you to give us some instructions which we may follow and convey to our people staying behind us." the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "I order you to observe four things and forbid you (to do) four things: (I order you) to believe in Allah testifying that None has the right to be worshipped except Allah; to offer the prayer perfectly; to pay the Zakat; and to give one-fifth of the war booty to Allah. And I forbid you to use Ad-Dubba, Al-Hantam, An-Naqir and Al- Muzaffat." (These are names of utensils in which alcoholic drinks were served)
الترجمة الأردية
ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے حماد نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوجمرہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ میں نے حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے سنا وہ فرماتے تھے کہ قبیلہ عبدالقیس کا وفد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں آیا اور اس نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہمارا تعلق قبیلہ ربیعہ سے ہے اور ہمارے اور آپ کے درمیان ( راستے میں ) کفار مضر کا قبیلہ پڑتا ہے، اس لیے ہم آپ کی خدمت اقدس میں صرف حرمت کے مہینوں میں ہی حاضر ہو سکتے ہیں۔ مناسب ہوتا اگر آپ ہمیں ایسے احکام بتلا دیتے جن پر ہم خود بھی مضبوطی سے قائم رہتے اور جو لوگ ہمارے پیچھے رہ گئے ہیں انہیں بھی بتا دیتے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ میں تمہیں چار چیزوں کا حکم دیتا ہوں اور چار چیزوں سے روکتا ہوں، اول اللہ پر ایمان لانے کا، یعنی اس کی گواہی دینا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے سوا اور کوئی معبود نہیں اور نماز قائم کرنے کا اور زکوٰۃ ادا کرنے کا اور اس بات کا کہ جو کچھ بھی تمہیں مال غنیمت ملے اس میں سے پانچواں حصہ اللہ کو ( یعنی امام وقت کے بیت المال کو ) ادا کرو اور میں تمہیں دباء، حنتم، نقیر اور مزفت ( کے استعمال ) سے منع کرتا ہوں۔
