It is narrated from Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) who stated: Hadrat Abu Hadrat Talha (may Allah be well pleased with him) was the wealthiest of the Ansar in Madinah. His most beloved property was the garden called Bir Ha', which was situated opposite the Mosque of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to visit it and drink from its sweet water. When the verse was revealed: 'You shall never attain righteousness until you spend of that which you love' (3:92), Hadrat Abu Hadrat Talha (may Allah be well pleased with him) came before the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Allah the Exalted says in His Book: You shall never attain righteousness until you spend of that which you love. And my most beloved property is Bir Ha'. I give it as charity for the sake of Allah, hoping for its reward and treasure with Allah. O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), spend it wherever you see fit.' The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Excellent! That is a most profitable asset, a most profitable asset! I have heard what you said about it, and I suggest you distribute it among your relatives.' Hadrat Abu Hadrat Talha (may Allah be well pleased with him) submitted: 'I shall do so, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).' So he distributed it among his relatives and cousins. Isma'il also narrated similarly from Imam Malik. And Rawh narrated from Imam Malik the word 'rabih' (profitable) instead of 'ra'ih' (perishable).
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں: حضرت ابو حضرت طلحہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ مدینہ منورہ میں انصار کے سب سے زیادہ مالدار تھے اور ان کا سب سے محبوب مال بیرحاء نامی باغ تھا جو مسجد نبوی شریف کے سامنے واقع تھا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اس میں تشریف لے جاتے اور اس کا میٹھا صاف پانی نوش فرماتے تھے۔ جب یہ آیتِ کریمہ نازل ہوئی: ﴿لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتّٰى تُنْفِقُوْا مِمَّا تُحِبُّوْنَ﴾ 'تم ہرگز نیکی نہیں پا سکتے جب تک اپنی محبوب چیز اللہ کی راہ میں خرچ نہ کرو'، تو حضرت ابو حضرت طلحہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی بارگاہ میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اللہ تعالیٰ اپنی کتاب میں ارشاد فرماتا ہے: ﴿لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتّٰى تُنْفِقُوْا مِمَّا تُحِبُّوْنَ﴾ اور میرا سب سے پیارا مال بیرحاء ہے۔ یہ اللہ کی راہ میں صدقہ ہے، اس کی نیکی اور ذخیرۂ ثواب کی امید صرف اللہ تعالیٰ سے رکھتا ہوں۔ یا رسول اللہ! آپ جہاں مناسب سمجھیں اسے خرچ فرمائیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: واہ! یہ تو بڑا نفع والا مال ہے، بڑا نفع والا مال ہے! جو تم نے اس کے بارے میں کہا وہ میں نے سن لیا اور میں مناسب سمجھتا ہوں کہ اسے اپنے رشتہ داروں میں تقسیم کرو۔ حضرت ابو حضرت طلحہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ایسا ہی کروں گا۔ چنانچہ انہوں نے اسے اپنے اقارب اور چچا کی اولاد میں تقسیم کر دیا۔ اسماعیل نے بھی امام مالک سے اسی طرح روایت کی ہے۔ اور روح نے امام مالک سے 'رائح' کی جگہ 'رابح' نقل کیا ہے۔
