It is narrated from Hadrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be well pleased with him), through Hadrat Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him), that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, 'The roof of my house was opened while I was in Makkah, and Jibril (upon him be peace) descended. He opened my chest and washed it with Zamzam water. Then he brought a golden basin filled with wisdom and faith, and poured its contents into my chest, then closed it. Then he took my hand and ascended with me to the nearest heaven. When I reached the nearest heaven, Jibril (upon him be peace) said to the gatekeeper of the heaven, "Open the gate." The gatekeeper asked, "Who is this?" He replied, "Jibril." He asked, "Is there anyone with you?" He replied, "Yes, Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is with me." He asked, "Has he been sent for?" He replied, "Yes." When the gate was opened, we ascended to the nearest heaven. There was a noble personage seated, with groups on his right and groups on his left. When he looked to his right, he smiled, and when he looked to his left, he wept. He said, "Welcome, O righteous the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and righteous son!" I asked Jibril (upon him be peace), "Who is this?" He replied, "This is Adam (upon him be peace), and these groups on his right and left are the souls of his progeny. Those on his right are the people of Paradise, and those on his left are the people of the Fire. So when he looks to his right, he smiles, and when he looks to his left, he weeps." Then he ascended with me to the second heaven and said to its gatekeeper, "Open." The gatekeeper asked similar questions as the first one did, then opened the gate.' Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: Hadrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be well pleased with him) mentioned that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) met Adam, Idris, Musa, Isa, and Ibrahim (upon them all be peace) in the heavens, but did not specify in which heaven each resided, except that he found Adam (upon him be peace) in the nearest heaven and Ibrahim (upon him be peace) in the sixth heaven. Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: When Jibril (upon him be peace) passed with the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) by Idris (upon him be peace), he said, 'Welcome, O righteous the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and righteous brother!' I asked, 'Who is this?' He replied, 'This is Idris (upon him be peace).' Then I passed by Musa (upon him be peace), and he said, 'Welcome, O righteous the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and righteous brother!' I asked, 'Who is this?' He replied, 'This is Musa (upon him be peace).' Then I passed by Isa (upon him be peace), and he said, 'Welcome, O righteous brother and righteous the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)!' I asked, 'Who is this?' He replied, 'This is Isa (upon him be peace).' Then I passed by Ibrahim (upon him be peace), and he said, 'Welcome, O righteous the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and righteous son!' I asked, 'Who is this?' He replied, 'This is Ibrahim (upon him be peace).' Ibn Shihab (upon him be mercy) said: Ibn Hazm informed me that Hadrat Ibn Abbas and Hadrat Abu Habba al-Ansari (may Allah be well pleased with them) used to say: The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, 'Then I was taken up until I reached a level where I could hear the scratching of the pens (of the recording angels).' Ibn Hazm and Hadrat Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, 'Then Allah Almighty enjoined fifty prayers upon my Ummah. I returned with this command and passed by Musa (upon him be peace). He asked, "What has Allah enjoined upon your Ummah?" I said, "Fifty prayers." He said, "Return to your Lord, for your Ummah will not be able to bear that." So I returned and He reduced them by half. I went back to Musa (upon him be peace) and told him that half had been reduced. He said, "Return to your Lord, for your Ummah will not be able to bear that either." So I returned and He reduced them by half again. I went back to him, and he said, "Return to your Lord, for your Ummah will not be able to bear that." So I kept going back, until Allah Almighty declared, "They are five (in practice) and fifty (in reward). My word does not change." I returned to Musa (upon him be peace) and he said, "Return to your Lord." I said, "I feel shy before my Lord now." Then Jibril (upon him be peace) took me until we reached Sidrat al-Muntaha (the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary), which was covered with colours indescribable. Then I was admitted into Paradise, where I found walls of pearls and its soil was of musk.'

ہم سے یحییٰ بن بکیر نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے یونس سے بیان کیا، انہوں نے ابن شہاب زہری رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ سے، انہوں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے، آپ نے فرمایا کہ حضرت ابوذر غفاری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ یہ حدیث بیان فرماتے تھے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا میرے گھر کی چھت کھولی گئی اور اس وقت میں مکہ مکرمہ میں تھا۔ پس حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام نازل ہوئے اور انہوں نے میرا سینۂ مبارک چاک کیا پھر اسے آبِ زمزم سے دھویا۔ پھر سونے کا ایک طشت لائے جو حکمت اور ایمان سے لبریز تھا اور اس کو میرے سینے میں انڈیل دیا پھر سینے کو بند فرما دیا۔ پھر میرا دستِ مبارک تھاما اور مجھے آسمانِ دنیا کی طرف لے چلے۔ جب میں پہلے آسمان پر پہنچا تو حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے آسمان کے نگہبان سے فرمایا دروازہ کھولو۔ اس نے پوچھا کون ہے؟ فرمایا جبرائیل۔ اس نے پوچھا کیا آپ کے ساتھ کوئی ہے؟ فرمایا ہاں، میرے ساتھ محمد صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہیں۔ اس نے پوچھا کیا انہیں بلایا گیا ہے؟ فرمایا ہاں۔ پھر جب دروازہ کھلا تو ہم پہلے آسمان پر پہنچے۔ وہاں ایک بزرگ ہستی بیٹھی ہوئی تھیں، ان کے دائیں طرف سیاہ جھنڈ تھے اور بائیں طرف سیاہ جھنڈ تھے۔ جب وہ دائیں طرف نظر فرماتے تو مسکرا دیتے اور جب بائیں طرف نظر فرماتے تو رو پڑتے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا خوش آمدید! نیک نبی اور نیک بیٹے! میں نے حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام سے پوچھا یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا یہ حضرت آدم علیہ السلام ہیں اور ان کے دائیں بائیں کے یہ جھنڈ ان کی اولاد کی روحیں ہیں۔ دائیں طرف والے اہلِ جنت ہیں اور بائیں طرف والے اہلِ دوزخ ہیں۔ اس لیے جب دائیں طرف دیکھتے ہیں تو مسکراتے ہیں اور جب بائیں طرف دیکھتے ہیں تو روتے ہیں۔ یہاں تک کہ حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام مجھے لے کر دوسرے آسمان تک پہنچے اور اس کے نگہبان سے فرمایا دروازہ کھولو۔ اس کے نگہبان نے بھی پہلے والے کی طرح سوالات کیے پھر دروازہ کھول دیا۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ذکر کیا کہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے آسمانوں میں حضرت آدم، حضرت ادریس، حضرت موسیٰ، حضرت عیسیٰ اور حضرت ابراہیم علیہم الصلوٰۃ والسلام کو پایا۔ لیکن ہر ایک کا ٹھکانہ متعین نہیں فرمایا سوائے اس کے کہ حضرت آدم علیہ السلام پہلے آسمان پر تھے اور حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام چھٹے آسمان پر۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں جب حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ حضرت ادریس علیہ السلام کے پاس سے گزرے تو انہوں نے فرمایا خوش آمدید! نیک نبی اور نیک بھائی! میں نے پوچھا یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا یہ حضرت ادریس علیہ السلام ہیں۔ پھر میں حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس سے گزرا تو انہوں نے فرمایا خوش آمدید! نیک نبی اور نیک بھائی! میں نے پوچھا یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا یہ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام ہیں۔ پھر میں حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس سے گزرا تو انہوں نے فرمایا خوش آمدید! نیک بھائی اور نیک نبی! میں نے پوچھا یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا یہ حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام ہیں۔ پھر میں حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام کے پاس پہنچا تو انہوں نے فرمایا خوش آمدید! نیک نبی اور نیک بیٹے! میں نے پوچھا یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا یہ حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام ہیں۔ ابن شہاب رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ فرماتے ہیں مجھے ابن حزم نے خبر دی کہ حضرت ابن عباس اور حضرت ابوحبہ انصاری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم فرمایا کرتے تھے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا پھر مجھے اوپر لے جایا گیا یہاں تک کہ میں اس بلند مقام پر پہنچا جہاں قلموں کے چلنے کی آواز سن رہا تھا۔ ابن حزم اور حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا پس اللہ تعالیٰ نے میری امت پر پچاس نمازیں فرض فرمائیں۔ میں یہ حکم لے کر واپس لوٹا۔ جب حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس پہنچا تو انہوں نے پوچھا اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کی امت پر کیا فرض فرمایا؟ میں نے کہا پچاس نمازیں فرض فرمائی ہیں۔ انہوں نے فرمایا اپنے رب کی بارگاہ میں واپس جائیے کیونکہ آپ کی امت میں اس کی طاقت نہیں ہے۔ پس میں نے بارگاہِ الٰہی میں عرض کیا تو آدھی کم ہو گئیں۔ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس واپس آیا اور عرض کیا آدھی کم ہو گئیں۔ فرمایا پھر اپنے رب کے حضور عرض کیجیے کیونکہ آپ کی امت اتنی بھی برداشت نہ کر سکے گی۔ پس میں نے پھر بارگاہِ الٰہی میں عرض کیا تو آدھی اور کم ہو گئیں۔ پھر ان کے پاس واپس آیا تو فرمایا اپنے رب کے حضور پھر عرض کیجیے کیونکہ آپ کی امت اتنی بھی برداشت نہ کر سکے گی۔ پس میں بار بار بارگاہِ الٰہی میں حاضر ہوتا رہا۔ آخر اللہ تعالیٰ نے ارشاد فرمایا یہ پانچ ہیں اور یہی پچاس (کے برابر ثواب میں) ہیں، میرے ہاں بات نہیں بدلتی۔ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس واپس آیا تو فرمایا اپنے رب سے عرض کیجیے۔ میں نے عرض کیا اب مجھے اپنے رب سے حیا آتی ہے۔ پھر حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام مجھے لے کر چلے یہاں تک کہ سدرۃ المنتہیٰ تک پہنچے جسے ایسے رنگوں نے ڈھانپ رکھا تھا جن کی حقیقت مجھے معلوم نہیں۔ پھر مجھے جنت میں داخل کیا گیا تو دیکھا کہ اس میں موتیوں کے قلعے ہیں اور اس کی مٹی مشک ہے۔

ہم سے یحییٰ بن بکیر نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے یونس سے بیان کیا، انہوں نے ابن شہاب زہری رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ سے، انہوں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے، آپ نے فرمایا کہ حضرت ابوذر غفاری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ یہ حدیث بیان فرماتے تھے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا میرے گھر کی چھت کھولی گئی اور اس وقت میں مکہ مکرمہ میں تھا۔ پس حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام نازل ہوئے اور انہوں نے میرا سینۂ مبارک چاک کیا پھر اسے آبِ زمزم سے دھویا۔ پھر سونے کا ایک طشت لائے جو حکمت اور ایمان سے لبریز تھا اور اس کو میرے سینے میں انڈیل دیا پھر سینے کو بند فرما دیا۔ پھر میرا دستِ مبارک تھاما اور مجھے آسمانِ دنیا کی طرف لے چلے۔ جب میں پہلے آسمان پر پہنچا تو حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے آسمان کے نگہبان سے فرمایا دروازہ کھولو۔ اس نے پوچھا کون ہے؟ فرمایا جبرائیل۔ اس نے پوچھا کیا آپ کے ساتھ کوئی ہے؟ فرمایا ہاں، میرے ساتھ محمد صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہیں۔ اس نے پوچھا کیا انہیں بلایا گیا ہے؟ فرمایا ہاں۔ پھر جب دروازہ کھلا تو ہم پہلے آسمان پر پہنچے۔ وہاں ایک بزرگ ہستی بیٹھی ہوئی تھیں، ان کے دائیں طرف سیاہ جھنڈ تھے اور بائیں طرف سیاہ جھنڈ تھے۔ جب وہ دائیں طرف نظر فرماتے تو مسکرا دیتے اور جب بائیں طرف نظر فرماتے تو رو پڑتے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا خوش آمدید! نیک نبی اور نیک بیٹے! میں نے حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام سے پوچھا یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا یہ حضرت آدم علیہ السلام ہیں اور ان کے دائیں بائیں کے یہ جھنڈ ان کی اولاد کی روحیں ہیں۔ دائیں طرف والے اہلِ جنت ہیں اور بائیں طرف والے اہلِ دوزخ ہیں۔ اس لیے جب دائیں طرف دیکھتے ہیں تو مسکراتے ہیں اور جب بائیں طرف دیکھتے ہیں تو روتے ہیں۔ یہاں تک کہ حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام مجھے لے کر دوسرے آسمان تک پہنچے اور اس کے نگہبان سے فرمایا دروازہ کھولو۔ اس کے نگہبان نے بھی پہلے والے کی طرح سوالات کیے پھر دروازہ کھول دیا۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابوذر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ذکر کیا کہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے آسمانوں میں حضرت آدم، حضرت ادریس، حضرت موسیٰ، حضرت عیسیٰ اور حضرت ابراہیم علیہم الصلوٰۃ والسلام کو پایا۔ لیکن ہر ایک کا ٹھکانہ متعین نہیں فرمایا سوائے اس کے کہ حضرت آدم علیہ السلام پہلے آسمان پر تھے اور حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام چھٹے آسمان پر۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں جب حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ حضرت ادریس علیہ السلام کے پاس سے گزرے تو انہوں نے فرمایا خوش آمدید! نیک نبی اور نیک بھائی! میں نے پوچھا یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا یہ حضرت ادریس علیہ السلام ہیں۔ پھر میں حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس سے گزرا تو انہوں نے فرمایا خوش آمدید! نیک نبی اور نیک بھائی! میں نے پوچھا یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا یہ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام ہیں۔ پھر میں حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس سے گزرا تو انہوں نے فرمایا خوش آمدید! نیک بھائی اور نیک نبی! میں نے پوچھا یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا یہ حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام ہیں۔ پھر میں حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام کے پاس پہنچا تو انہوں نے فرمایا خوش آمدید! نیک نبی اور نیک بیٹے! میں نے پوچھا یہ کون ہیں؟ فرمایا یہ حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام ہیں۔ ابن شہاب رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ فرماتے ہیں مجھے ابن حزم نے خبر دی کہ حضرت ابن عباس اور حضرت ابوحبہ انصاری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم فرمایا کرتے تھے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا پھر مجھے اوپر لے جایا گیا یہاں تک کہ میں اس بلند مقام پر پہنچا جہاں قلموں کے چلنے کی آواز سن رہا تھا۔ ابن حزم اور حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا پس اللہ تعالیٰ نے میری امت پر پچاس نمازیں فرض فرمائیں۔ میں یہ حکم لے کر واپس لوٹا۔ جب حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس پہنچا تو انہوں نے پوچھا اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کی امت پر کیا فرض فرمایا؟ میں نے کہا پچاس نمازیں فرض فرمائی ہیں۔ انہوں نے فرمایا اپنے رب کی بارگاہ میں واپس جائیے کیونکہ آپ کی امت میں اس کی طاقت نہیں ہے۔ پس میں نے بارگاہِ الٰہی میں عرض کیا تو آدھی کم ہو گئیں۔ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس واپس آیا اور عرض کیا آدھی کم ہو گئیں۔ فرمایا پھر اپنے رب کے حضور عرض کیجیے کیونکہ آپ کی امت اتنی بھی برداشت نہ کر سکے گی۔ پس میں نے پھر بارگاہِ الٰہی میں عرض کیا تو آدھی اور کم ہو گئیں۔ پھر ان کے پاس واپس آیا تو فرمایا اپنے رب کے حضور پھر عرض کیجیے کیونکہ آپ کی امت اتنی بھی برداشت نہ کر سکے گی۔ پس میں بار بار بارگاہِ الٰہی میں حاضر ہوتا رہا۔ آخر اللہ تعالیٰ نے ارشاد فرمایا یہ پانچ ہیں اور یہی پچاس (کے برابر ثواب میں) ہیں، میرے ہاں بات نہیں بدلتی۔ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے پاس واپس آیا تو فرمایا اپنے رب سے عرض کیجیے۔ میں نے عرض کیا اب مجھے اپنے رب سے حیا آتی ہے۔ پھر حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام مجھے لے کر چلے یہاں تک کہ سدرۃ المنتہیٰ تک پہنچے جسے ایسے رنگوں نے ڈھانپ رکھا تھا جن کی حقیقت مجھے معلوم نہیں۔ پھر مجھے جنت میں داخل کیا گیا تو دیکھا کہ اس میں موتیوں کے قلعے ہیں اور اس کی مٹی مشک ہے۔
