Abu Zakariyya ibn Abi Ishaq, Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn al-Hasan the Judge, and Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami narrated to us: Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us: Bahr ibn Nasr said: It was read to Ibn Wahb: Jarir ibn Hazim informed you. And Abu Ali al-Rudhbari informed us: Abu Bakr ibn Dasa narrated to us: Abu Dawud narrated to us: Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Mahri narrated to us: Ibn Wahb narrated to us: Jarir ibn Hazim informed me - and he named another - from Abu Ishaq, from Asim ibn Damra and al-Harith ibn Abdullah, from Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said: 'Bring me a quarter of the tithes: from every forty dirhams, one dirham. There is nothing upon you until you have two hundred dirhams. When you have two hundred dirhams and a year has passed over them, then five dirhams are due. There is nothing upon you until you have twenty dinars. When you have them and a year has passed over them, then half a dinar is due. Whatever exceeds that, it is calculated accordingly.' He said: I do not know whether Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said 'calculated accordingly' or attributed it to the Prophet (peace be upon him), except that Jarir said in the hadith from the Prophet (peace be upon him): 'There is no zakah on wealth until a year has passed over it.' This is the wording of Bahr ibn Nasr's hadith, and in his chain from Ibn Wahb he added from al-Harith ibn Nabhan from al-Hasan ibn Umara from Abu Ishaq.
