Muhammad ibn Bakr and Abd al-Razzaq told us, they said: Ibn Jurayj informed us, Ata' informed me, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no 'umra [life-tenancy gift] and no ruqba [survivorship gift]; whoever is given something as an umra or a ruqba, it belongs to him for his life and after his death." Ibn Bakr said in his narration: Ata' said: "And the ruqba belongs to whichever of the two [parties] survives the other." Abd al-Razzaq said: "[Meaning] 'from me and from you.'"
