حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَلَى الْبَرَاءِ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَكَانَ النَّاسُ يَقُولُونَ لَهُ لِمَ تَخَتَّمُ بِالذَّهَبِ وَقَدْ نَهَى عَنْهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ الْبَرَاءُ بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ غَنِيمَةٌ يَقْسِمُهَا سَبْيٌ وَخُرْثِيٌّ قَالَ فَقَسَمَهَا حَتَّى بَقِيَ هَذَا الْخَاتَمُ فَرَفَعَ طَرْفَهُ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ ثُمَّ خَفَّضَ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ طَرْفَهُ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ خَفَّضَ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ طَرْفَهُ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيْ بَرَاءُ فَجِئْتُهُ حَتَّى قَعَدْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَأَخَذَ الْخَاتَمَ فَقَبَضَ عَلَى كُرْسُوعِي ثُمَّ قَالَ خُذْ الْبَسْ مَا كَسَاكَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ قَالَ وَكَانَ الْبَرَاءُ يَقُولُ كَيْفَ تَأْمُرُونِي أَنْ أَضَعَ مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَسْ مَا كَسَاكَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abu 'Abd al-Rahman told us, Abu Raja' told us, Muhammad ibn Malik told us, who said: I saw on al-Bara' a ring of gold, and people used to say to him, "Why do you wear gold when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade it?" Al-Bara' said: While we were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and before him was spoils of war which he was distributing - captives and household goods - he distributed them until only this ring remained. He raised his gaze and looked at his companions, then lowered it, then raised his gaze again and looked at them, then lowered it, then raised his gaze once more and looked at them, then said, "O Bara'!" So I came to him and sat before him, and he took the ring and grasped my wrist, then said, "Take it and wear what Allah and His Messenger have clothed you with." Al-Bara' used to say, "How can you order me to set aside what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Wear what Allah and His Messenger have clothed you with'?"
