Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:831 حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ الْجُذُوعِيُّ ثنا الْأَزْرَقُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا حَسَّانُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَارَةُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ سَرِيعٍ أَنَّهُمْ غَزَوْا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَقُوا الْعَدُوَّ فَقَتَلُوا حَتَّى أَفْضَوْا إِلَى الذُّرِّيَّةِ فَسَأَلُوا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «كُلُّ مَوْلُودٍ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ أَبَوَاهُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ وَيُنَصِّرَانِهِ»
English Translation
Al-Aswad ibn Sari' narrated that they went on an expedition with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and met the enemy. They killed until they reached the children. They asked the Prophet (peace be upon him), and he said: "Every child is born upon the fitrah until his parents make him a Jew or a Christian."
