Arabic (Original)
عن أبي قتادة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: سئل عن صوم يوم الاثنين فقال: "ذلك يوم ولدت فيه، ويوم بعثت أو أنزل علي فيه" ((رواه مسلم)).
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was asked about fasting on Mondays. He said, "That is the day on which I was born and the day on which I received Revelation.".
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے پیر کے دن کے روزے کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو ارشاد فرمایا: 'یہ وہ دن ہے جس میں میری پیدائش ہوئی، اسی دن مجھے (نبوت) عطا کی گئی یا مجھ پر (وحی) نازل ہوئی۔'
