Arabic (Original)
وعن ابن عمر، رضي الله عنهما، قال: لما اشتد برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وجعه، قيل له في الصلاة، فقال: مروا أبا بكر فليصل بالناس" فقالت عائشة، رضي الله عنها : إن أبا بكر رجل رقيق، إذا قرأ القرآن غلبه البكاء، فقال : "مروه فليصل". وفي رواية عن عائشة، رضي الله عنها، قالت: قلت: إن أبا بكر إذا قام مقامك لم يسمع الناس من البكاء. ((متفق عليه)) .
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them) reported that when the illness of Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) became serious, he was asked about the leading of Salat and he said, "Ask Hadrat Abu Bakr to lead Salat." Whereupon, Hadrat 'Aishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) said; "Hadrat Abu Bakr is very tender hearted. He is bound to be overcome by weeping when he recites the Qur'an." Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) repeated, "Ask him (Hadrat Abu Bakr) to lead Salat".In another narration: Hadrat 'Aishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) said: "When Hadrat Abu Bakr stands in your place, he will not be able to recite the Noble Qur'an to the people on account of weeping.".
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی بیماری شدید ہوئی تو آپ سے نماز کے بارے میں عرض کیا گیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: "حضرت ابوبکر سے کہو وہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں۔" حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے عرض کیا: حضرت ابوبکر نرم دل آدمی ہیں، جب قرآن پڑھیں گے تو رونا ان پر غالب آ جائے گا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: "ان سے کہو وہ نماز پڑھائیں۔" ایک اور روایت میں حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا فرماتی ہیں: میں نے عرض کیا: حضرت ابوبکر آپ کی جگہ کھڑے ہوں گے تو رونے کی وجہ سے لوگوں کو (قرآن) سنا نہیں سکیں گے۔ (متفق علیہ)
