English Translation
Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) went to al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was in Iraq and one day the prayer was delayed. He said: "O Mughirah, what is this? Do you not know that Jibril came and prayed, and the Messenger of Allah prayed (with him); then he prayed (a second prayer), and the Messenger of Allah prayed; then he prayed (a third prayer), and the Messenger of Allah prayed; then he prayed (a fourth prayer), and the Messenger of Allah prayed; then he prayed (a fifth prayer), and the Messenger of Allah prayed. Then Jibril said: 'I was commanded to establish these (prayer times).'"
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابومسعود انصاری رضی اللہ عنہ،مغیرہ بن شعبہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس گئے، جبکہ وہ عراق میں تھے اور ایک دن نماز میں تاخیر ہو گئی تھی، کہا کہ اے مغیرہ! (تم نے) یہ کیا کیا؟ تم نہیں جانتے کہ (ایک دن) جبرائیل علیہ السلام تشریف لائے اور انھوں نے نماز پڑھی تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے (بھی) پڑھی، پھر (دوسری) نماز پڑھی تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے بھی پڑھی، پھر (تیسری) نماز پڑھی تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے بھی پڑھی، پھر (چوتھی) نماز پڑھی تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے بھی پڑھی، پھر (پانچویں) نماز پڑھی تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے بھی پڑھی، پھر جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے کہا کہ مجھے اسی طرح حکم ہوا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 325]
