English Translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "A previously married woman (widow or divorcee) should not be given in marriage without taking her permission, nor should a virgin be given in marriage without her permission." The people said, "O Messenger of Allah! How is the permission of a virgin (given)?" He (peace be upon him) said, "Her staying silent is (her) consent."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہنبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”بیوہ عورت کا نکاح اس سے اجازت لیے بغیر نہ کیا جائے اور نہ باکرہ کا نکاح بغیر اس کی اجازت کے کیا جائے۔“لوگوں نے عرض کی کہ یا رسول اللہ! باکرہ کی اجازت کیونکر ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اس کا خاموش ہو جانا ہی (اس کی) رضامندی ہے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1848]
