Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ بَيْعِ الْوَلاَءِ، وَعَنْ هِبَتِهِ.
English Translation
It is narrated by Hadrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) who said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade the selling of Wala' (the right of patronage over a freed slave) and giving it away as a gift.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے فرمایا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ولاء کے بیچنے اور اسے ہبہ (تحفہ) کرنے سے منع فرمایا۔
