Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ هِنْدٌ أُمُّ مُعَاوِيَةَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ رَجُلٌ شَحِيحٌ، فَهَلْ عَلَىَّ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ آخُذَ مِنْ مَالِهِ سِرًّا قَالَ " خُذِي أَنْتِ وَبَنُوكِ مَا يَكْفِيكِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ ".
English Translation
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha (may Allah be well pleased with her) that Hadrat Hind (may Allah be well pleased with her), the mother of Hadrat Mu'awiya (may Allah be well pleased with him), submitted to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): Abu Sufyan is a miserly man. Is there any sin upon me if I take from his wealth secretly? He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: You and your children may take what is sufficient for you reasonably and fairly.
Urdu Translation
حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت ہند رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا (حضرت معاویہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کی والدہ) نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے عرض کیا: ابو سفیان بخیل آدمی ہیں، تو کیا مجھ پر کوئی گناہ ہے اگر میں ان کے مال میں سے چھپا کر کچھ لے لوں؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: تم اور تمہارے بچے دستور کے مطابق اتنا لے سکتی ہو جتنا تمہارے لیے کافی ہو۔
