حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، ح. حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ أَبُو الْيَسَعِ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتَوَائِيُّ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّهُ مَشَى إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِخُبْزِ شَعِيرٍ، وَإِهَالَةٍ سَنِخَةٍ، وَلَقَدْ رَهَنَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم دِرْعًا لَهُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ عِنْدَ يَهُودِيٍّ، وَأَخَذَ مِنْهُ شَعِيرًا لأَهْلِهِ، وَلَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ " مَا أَمْسَى عِنْدَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَاعُ بُرٍّ وَلاَ صَاعُ حَبٍّ، وَإِنَّ عِنْدَهُ لَتِسْعَ نِسْوَةٍ ".
English Translation
It is narrated from Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) that he walked to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) carrying barley bread and rancid fat. And indeed, the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) had mortgaged his armor in Madinah to a Jew and had taken barley from him for his household. Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) states: I heard that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) never had an evening where even one Sa' (measure) of grain was available in his household, despite having nine noble wives.
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی بارگاہ میں جَو کی روٹی اور باسی چربی لے کر حاضر ہوئے۔ اور نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے مدینہ منورہ میں ایک یہودی کے پاس اپنی زرہ مبارک گروی رکھی تھی اور اس سے اپنے اہلِ خانہ کے لیے جَو لیے تھے۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: میں نے سنا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے (کبھی) ایسی شام نہیں کی کہ آپ کے پاس ایک صاع (غلہ) بھی موجود ہو، حالانکہ آپ کے نو ازواجِ مطہرات تھیں۔
