English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'ba told us: Salm told me: I heard Abdullah ibn Abi al-Hudhayl say: A companion of mine told me that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Ruin to gold and silver! He said: My companion told me that he went along with Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, and said, "O Messenger of Allah, your saying 'Ruin to gold and silver' - what does it mean?" The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A tongue that remembers, a heart that gives thanks, and a wife who helps toward the Hereafter.
