English Translation

Abu Kamil narrated to us: Sa’id ibn Zayd narrated to us: al-Zubayr ibn al-Khirrit narrated to us: Abu Labid narrated to us, from Urwah ibn Abi al-Ja’d al-Bariqi, who said: Some livestock for trade was brought before the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so he gave me a dinar and said, "O Urwah, go to the livestock and buy us a sheep." So I went to the livestock and bargained with its owner, and bought from him two sheep for a dinar. Then I came driving them — or he said, leading them — and a man met me and bargained with me, so I sold him one sheep for a dinar. Then I brought the dinar and I brought the sheep, and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, here is your dinar and here is your sheep." He said, "How did you do that?" So I told him the story, and he said, "O Allah, bless him in his dealings." I have since found myself standing at the rubbish-heap of Kufa and profiting forty thousand before reaching my family; and he used to buy slave-girls and sell them. Ibrahim ibn al-Hajjaj narrated to us: Sa’id ibn Zayd narrated to us: al-Zubayr ibn al-Khirrit narrated to us, from Abu Labid, who is Lumazah ibn Zabbar, from Urwah ibn Abi al-Ja’d al-Bariqi, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, the same account.
