حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَلَقَّوْا الرُّكْبَانَ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ لَا يُتَلَقَّى جَلَبٌ وَلَا يَبِعْ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ وَمَنْ اشْتَرَى مُصَرَّاةً فَهُوَ فِيهَا بِآخِرِ النَّظَرَيْنِ وَقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ بِأَحَدِ النَّظَرَيْنِ إِنْ رَدَّهَا رَدَّ مَعَهَا صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ.
English Translation
Waki' and Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, they said: Shu'bah told us, from al-Hakam, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla - Ibn Ja'far said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla, from a man among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not go out to meet the caravans" - Ibn Ja'far said: "Goods must not be intercepted, and a townsman must not sell on behalf of a nomad, and whoever buys an animal whose udder was left untapped has the choice between the two options" - Ibn Ja'far said: "one of the two options" - "if he returns it, he returns with it a sa' of food or a sa' of dates."
