حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ قَدْ عَلِمْنَاهُ فَكَيْفَ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْكَ قَالَ قُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَآلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ.
English Translation
Abd al-Malik ibn Amr narrated to us, he said: Abdullah ibn Ja'far al-Zuhri narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abdullah ibn al-Had, from Abdullah ibn Khabbab, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: We said: "O Messenger of Allah, this is the greeting upon you which we already know; but how is the prayer of blessing upon you?" He said: "Say: O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad, Your servant and messenger, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim, and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim."
