Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِذَا كَانَ الْعَبْدُ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ فَأَعْتَقَ أَحَدُهُمَا نَصِيبَهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ مُوسِرًا يُقَوَّمُ عَلَيْهِ قِيمَةً لاَ وَكْسَ وَلاَ شَطَطَ ثُمَّ يُعْتَقُ " .
English Translation
It is narrated from Hadrat Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: When a slave is shared between two men and one of them emancipates his share, then if the one who emancipated is wealthy, a fair price of the slave shall be determined — neither less nor more — and the slave shall then be (fully) emancipated.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: جب غلام دو آدمیوں کے درمیان مشترک ہو اور ان میں سے ایک نے اپنا حصہ آزاد کر دیا تو اگر آزاد کرنے والا مالدار ہو تو اس غلام کی واجبی قیمت لگائی جائے گی نہ کم نہ زیادہ، پھر وہ (مکمل طور پر) آزاد کر دیا جائے گا۔
