Narrated Aisha the Truthful, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was lying in his house with his thighs or shins uncovered, when Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission (to enter). He (peace be upon him) gave permission in that state and continued talking. Then Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission, and he gave him permission too in that state and continued talking. Then Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sat up and adjusted his clothes. Then he came in and talked. (The narrator Muhammad says: I do not say that the coming of all three was on the same day.) When they had left, Aisha the Truthful, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came and you paid no heed, then Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came and again you paid no heed, then Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) came and you sat up and adjusted your clothes." He (peace be upon him) said, "Should I not be modest before a man before whom the angels are modest?" [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1637]

ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماپنے گھر میں لیٹے ہوئے تھے، رانیں یا پنڈلیاں کھولے ہوئے تھے کہ اتنے میں سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اجازت مانگی، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اسی حالت میں اجازت دے دی اور باتیں کرتے رہے۔ پھر سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اجازت چاہی تو انہیں بھی اسی حالت میں اجازت دے دی اور باتیں کرتے رہے۔ پھر سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ نے اجازت چاہی تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبیٹھ گئے اور کپڑے برابر کر لئے۔ پھر وہ آئے اور باتیں کیں۔ (راوی محمد کہتا ہے کہ میں نہیں کہتا کہ تینوں کا آنا ایک ہی دن ہوا) جب وہ چلے گئے تو ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ آئے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے کچھ خیال نہ کیا، پھر سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ آئے تو بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے کچھ خیال نہ کیا، پھر سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ آئے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبیٹھ گئے اور اپنے کپڑے درست کر لئے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کیا میں اس شخص سے شرم نہ کروں جس سے فرشتے شرم کرتے ہیں؟[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1637]
