Narrated Sa'id bin al-Musayyab: Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) informed me that he performed ablution in his house, then went out. Abu Musa says, "I said, 'Today I will not leave the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) all day; I will stay with him.'" He says, "Then I came to the mosque and asked about the Prophet (peace be upon him). The people said he had gone out in that direction. So I followed his footprints, asking the people about him along the way. As I went on, I learned that he had gone into a garden at the place called Aris. I sat down near the gate, which was made of palm branches, until the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had relieved himself and performed ablution. Then I walked towards him. I saw that he was sitting on the edge of the well of Aris, having uncovered both his shins and let them hang into the well. So I greeted him and then turned back and sat near the gate. I said (to myself), 'Today I will be the doorkeeper/gatekeeper of the Prophet (peace be upon him).' Meanwhile Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came and pushed the gate. I asked, 'Who is it?' He said, 'It is Abu Bakr.' I said, 'Wait a moment.' Then I went and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr seeks permission to enter.' He (peace be upon him) said, 'Let him in, and give him the glad tidings of Paradise.' I came and said to Abu Bakr, 'Enter, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) has given you the glad tidings of Paradise.' So Abu Bakr entered and sat on the same ledge to the right of the Prophet (peace be upon him), letting both his feet hang and uncovering his shins as the Prophet (peace be upon him) was sitting. I returned and sat down again, having left my brother (Amir) performing ablution at home. I said, 'If Allah wills good for so-and-so (that is, my brother), He will bring him here.' Meanwhile (I saw that) someone began shaking the gate. I asked, 'Who is it?' The reply came, 'Umar bin al-Khattab.' I said, 'Wait.' Then I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), greeted him, and said, 'Umar bin al-Khattab seeks permission to enter.' He said, 'Let him in, and give him the glad tidings of Paradise too.' So I went and said, 'Enter, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) has given you the glad tidings of Paradise.' So he entered too and sat on the same ledge to the left of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and let both his feet hang into the well. Then I returned and sat down (at the gate). I said, 'If Allah wills good for so-and-so (Amir), He will bring him too.' Meanwhile another man shook the gate. I said, 'Who is it?' He replied, 'Uthman bin Affan.' I said, 'Wait.' Then I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and told him, and he (peace be upon him) said, 'Let him in, and give him the glad tidings of Paradise, but with a trial that will befall him.' I came and said to him, 'Enter, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) has given you the glad tidings of Paradise, but with a trial that will befall you.' So he entered too and saw that one side of the ledge was full, so he sat on the other edge facing the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)." Sharik said that Sa'id bin al-Musayyab said, "I concluded from this hadith that their graves would also be like this." (And so it was, that Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, did not find a place in that chamber, so he was buried in al-Baqi facing the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.) سعید بن مسیب کہتے ہیں کہمجھے سیدنا ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ نے خبر دی کہ انہوں نے اپنے گھر میں وضو کیا، پھر باہر نکلے۔ سیدنا ابوموسیٰ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے کہا کہ آج میں دن بھر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا ساتھ نہ چھوڑوں گا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس ہی رہوں گا۔ کہتے ہیں کہ پھر مسجد میں آیا تو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے بارے میں پوچھا۔ لوگوں نے کہا کہ باہر اس طرف تشریف لے گئے ہیں۔ میں بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے قدموں کے نشان پر چلا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے بارے میں لوگوں سے پوچھتا جاتا تھا۔ چلتے چلتے معلوم ہوا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممقام اریس پر باغ میں گئے ہیں۔ میں دروازے کے قریب بیٹھ گیا جو کھجور کی ڈالیوں کا بنا ہوا تھا، یہاں تک کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمحاجت سے فارغ ہوئے اور وضو کر چکے تو میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی طرف چل دیا۔ میں نے دیکھا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماریس کنوئیں کی منڈیر پر بیٹھے ہیں اور دونوں پنڈلیاں کھول کر کنوئیں میں لٹکا دی ہیں۔ پس میں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو سلام کیا اور پھر لوٹ کر دروازے کے قریب بیٹھ گیا۔ میں نے (دل میں) کہا کہ میں آج نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا دربان / چوکیدار رہوں گا۔ اتنے میں سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ آئے اور دروازے کو دھکیلا۔ میں نے پوچھا کون ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ ابوبکر ہوں، میں نے کہا ذرا ٹھہرو۔ پھر میں گیا اور کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! ابوبکر اندر آنے کی اجازت چاہتے ہیں؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ان کو آنے دو اور جنت کی خوشخبری دو۔ میں آیا اور سیدنا ابوبکر سے کہا کہ اندر داخل ہو، اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے آپ کو جنت کی خوشخبری دی ہے۔ پس سیدنا ابوبکر داخل ہوئے اور نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی داہنی طرف اسی منڈیر پر دونوں پاؤں لٹکا کر پنڈلیاں کھول کر جیسے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبیٹھے تھے، بیٹھ گئے۔ میں لوٹ آیا اور پھر بیٹھ گیا اور میں اپنے بھائی (عامر) کو گھر میں وضو کرتے چھوڑ آیا تھا، میں نے کہا کہ اگر اللہ تعالیٰ کو فلاں (یعنی) میرے بھائی کی بھلائی منظور ہے تو اس کو یہاں لے آئے گا۔ اتنے میں (کیا دیکھتا ہوں کہ) کوئی دروازہ ہلانے لگا ہے۔ میں نے پوچھا کون ہے؟ جواب آیا کہ عمر بن خطاب۔ میں نے کہا ٹھہر جا۔ پھر میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا، سلام کیا اور کہا کہ سیدنا عمر بن خطاب اندر آنے کی اجازت چاہتے ہیں؟ فرمایا کہ انہیں اجازت دو اور جنت کی خوشخبری بھی دو۔ پس میں گیا اور کہا کہ اندر داخل ہو اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے تجھے جنت کی خوشخبری دی ہے۔ پس وہ بھی داخل ہوئے اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے بائیں طرف اسی منڈیر پر بیٹھ گئے اور دونوں پاؤں کنوئیں میں لٹکا دئیے۔ پھر میں لوٹ آیا اور (دروازے پر) بیٹھ گیا۔ میں نے کہا کہ اگر اللہ کو فلاں آدمی (عامر) کی بھلائی منظور ہے تو اس کو بھی لے آئے گا۔ اتنے میں ایک اور آدمی نے دروازہ ہلایا۔ میں نے کہا کہ کون ہے؟ جواب دیا کہ عثمان بن عفان۔ میں نے کہا کہ ٹھہر جا۔ پھر میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا اور بتایا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ انہیں اجازت دو اور جنت کی خوشخبری دو مگر وہ ایک مصیبت میں مبتلا ہوں گے۔ میں آیا اور ان سے کہا کہ داخل ہو اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے تجھے جنت کی خوشخبری دی ہے مگر ایک بلا کے ساتھ جو تم پر آئے گی۔ پس وہ بھی داخل ہوئے اور دیکھا کہ منڈیر کا ایک حصہ بھر گیا ہے، پس وہ دوسرے کنارے پر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے سامنے بیٹھ گئے۔ شریک نے کہا کہ سعید بن مسیب نے کہا کہ میں نے اس حدیث سے یہ نکالا کہ ان کی قبریں بھی اسی طرح ہوں گی۔ (ویسا ہی ہوا کہ سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کو اس حجرہ میں جگہ نہ ملی، تو وہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے سامنے بقیع میں دفن ہوئے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1638]سعید بن مسیب کہتے ہیں کہمجھے سیدنا ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ نے خبر دی کہ انہوں نے اپنے گھر میں وضو کیا، پھر باہر نکلے۔ سیدنا ابوموسیٰ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے کہا کہ آج میں دن بھر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا ساتھ نہ چھوڑوں گا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس ہی رہوں گا۔ کہتے ہیں کہ پھر مسجد میں آیا تو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے بارے میں پوچھا۔ لوگوں نے کہا کہ باہر اس طرف تشریف لے گئے ہیں۔ میں بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے قدموں کے نشان پر چلا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے بارے میں لوگوں سے پوچھتا جاتا تھا۔ چلتے چلتے معلوم ہوا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممقام اریس پر باغ میں گئے ہیں۔ میں دروازے کے قریب بیٹھ گیا جو کھجور کی ڈالیوں کا بنا ہوا تھا، یہاں تک کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمحاجت سے فارغ ہوئے اور وضو کر چکے تو میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی طرف چل دیا۔ میں نے دیکھا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماریس کنوئیں کی منڈیر پر بیٹھے ہیں اور دونوں پنڈلیاں کھول کر کنوئیں میں لٹکا دی ہیں۔ پس میں نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو سلام کیا اور پھر لوٹ کر دروازے کے قریب بیٹھ گیا۔ میں نے (دل میں) کہا کہ میں آج نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا دربان / چوکیدار رہوں گا۔ اتنے میں سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ آئے اور دروازے کو دھکیلا۔ میں نے پوچھا کون ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ ابوبکر ہوں، میں نے کہا ذرا ٹھہرو۔ پھر میں گیا اور کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! ابوبکر اندر آنے کی اجازت چاہتے ہیں؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ان کو آنے دو اور جنت کی خوشخبری دو۔ میں آیا اور سیدنا ابوبکر سے کہا کہ اندر داخل ہو، اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے آپ کو جنت کی خوشخبری دی ہے۔ پس سیدنا ابوبکر داخل ہوئے اور نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی داہنی طرف اسی منڈیر پر دونوں پاؤں لٹکا کر پنڈلیاں کھول کر جیسے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبیٹھے تھے، بیٹھ گئے۔ میں لوٹ آیا اور پھر بیٹھ گیا اور میں اپنے بھائی (عامر) کو گھر میں وضو کرتے چھوڑ آیا تھا، میں نے کہا کہ اگر اللہ تعالیٰ کو فلاں (یعنی) میرے بھائی کی بھلائی منظور ہے تو اس کو یہاں لے آئے گا۔ اتنے میں (کیا دیکھتا ہوں کہ) کوئی دروازہ ہلانے لگا ہے۔ میں نے پوچھا کون ہے؟ جواب آیا کہ عمر بن خطاب۔ میں نے کہا ٹھہر جا۔ پھر میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا، سلام کیا اور کہا کہ سیدنا عمر بن خطاب اندر آنے کی اجازت چاہتے ہیں؟ فرمایا کہ انہیں اجازت دو اور جنت کی خوشخبری بھی دو۔ پس میں گیا اور کہا کہ اندر داخل ہو اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے تجھے جنت کی خوشخبری دی ہے۔ پس وہ بھی داخل ہوئے اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے بائیں طرف اسی منڈیر پر بیٹھ گئے اور دونوں پاؤں کنوئیں میں لٹکا دئیے۔ پھر میں لوٹ آیا اور (دروازے پر) بیٹھ گیا۔ میں نے کہا کہ اگر اللہ کو فلاں آدمی (عامر) کی بھلائی منظور ہے تو اس کو بھی لے آئے گا۔ اتنے میں ایک اور آدمی نے دروازہ ہلایا۔ میں نے کہا کہ کون ہے؟ جواب دیا کہ عثمان بن عفان۔ میں نے کہا کہ ٹھہر جا۔ پھر میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا اور بتایا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ انہیں اجازت دو اور جنت کی خوشخبری دو مگر وہ ایک مصیبت میں مبتلا ہوں گے۔ میں آیا اور ان سے کہا کہ داخل ہو اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے تجھے جنت کی خوشخبری دی ہے مگر ایک بلا کے ساتھ جو تم پر آئے گی۔ پس وہ بھی داخل ہوئے اور دیکھا کہ منڈیر کا ایک حصہ بھر گیا ہے، پس وہ دوسرے کنارے پر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے سامنے بیٹھ گئے۔ شریک نے کہا کہ سعید بن مسیب نے کہا کہ میں نے اس حدیث سے یہ نکالا کہ ان کی قبریں بھی اسی طرح ہوں گی۔ (ویسا ہی ہوا کہ سیدنا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کو اس حجرہ میں جگہ نہ ملی، تو وہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے سامنے بقیع میں دفن ہوئے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1638]
