Yunus told us, Hammad - that is, Ibn Salamah - told us, from 'Asim b. Bahdalah, from Zirr b. Hubaysh, from Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman: that the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I was brought the Buraq - a white animal, tall, placing its hoof at the farthest extent of its stride - and we did not leave its back, I and Gabriel (peace be upon him), until I came to the Holy House, and the gates of heaven were opened for us, and I saw Paradise and the Fire." Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman said: "And he did not pray in the Holy House." Zirr said: I said to him: "Yes, he did pray." Hudhayfah said: "What is your name, O bald one? I know your face but I do not know your name." I said: "I am Zirr b. Hubaysh." He said: "And how do you know that he prayed?" I said: "God, Mighty and Majestic, says: {Glory be to Him who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque, whose surroundings We have blessed, that We might show him some of Our signs; indeed He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing}." He said: "Do you find that he prayed there? Had he prayed there, you would have prayed there as you pray in the Sacred Mosque." Zirr said: And he tied the animal to the ring by which the prophets tie their mounts. Hudhayfah said: "Would he really fear that it might run off from him, when God had given it to him?" Hasan b. Musa told us, Hammad b. Salamah told us, 'Asim b. Bahdalah told us, from Zirr b. Hubaysh, from Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman: that the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I was brought the Buraq" - and he mentioned its meaning. Hasan said in his hadith - meaning this hadith - "and they both saw Paradise and the Fire"; and 'Affan said: "and the gates of heaven were opened for the two of them, and he saw Paradise and the Fire."
