Sufyan ibn Uyaynah narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Abu Qilabah, from Abu al-Muhallab, from Imran ibn Husayn, from the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said: There was a woman who was captured by the enemy. They would let their camels rest in the evening. She went to the camels wanting to ride one of them. Every time she approached a camel, it bellowed, so she left it, until she came to one that did not bellow. She rode it and escaped. She arrived in Madinah, and when the people saw her they said: 'The she-camel of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) — al-Adba!' She said: 'I vowed to slaughter it if Allah, Mighty and Majestic, saved me on it.' He said: 'What a terrible way to repay it! There is no valid vow for the son of Adam in what he does not own, and no vow in disobedience to Allah, Mighty and Majestic.'
