حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَسَدِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَصِّرُ بِمِشْقَصٍ.

Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shayba narrated to us: Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah al-Asadi narrated to us from Sufyan from Ja'far from his father from Ibn 'Abbas from Mu'awiya, who said: 'I saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, shortening his hair with an arrowhead.'
