حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حُجَيْرٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ قَالَ قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنِّي قَصَّرْتُ مِنْ رَأْسِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِشْقَصٍ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ لَا قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّادٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَهَذِهِ حُجَّةٌ عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ.

'Abdullah narrated to us: Isma'il Abu Ma'mar and Muhammad ibn 'Abbad narrated to us, saying: Ibn 'Uyayna narrated to us from Hisham ibn Hujayr from Tawus, who said: Mu'awiya said to Ibn 'Abbas: 'Do you not know that I shortened the hair of the head of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with an arrowhead?' Ibn 'Abbas said: 'No.' Ibn 'Abbad said in his narration: Ibn 'Abbas said: 'And this is an argument against Mu'awiya.'
