نا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: نا عُبَيْدَةُ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، مِثْلَهُ.

Al-Sha'bi said the same: "If a time is set for divorce or emancipation, it takes effect."

Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib said: "If a man says to his wife: 'You are divorced after one year,' she is divorced immediately."

نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ،" أَنَّهُ كَانَلا يُؤَجِّلُ فِي الطَّلاقِ".

Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib would not allow postponement in divorce.

نا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، وَيُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ،" أَنَّهُ كَانَلا يُؤَجِّلُ فِي الطَّلاقِ".

Al-Hasan also did not consider postponement of divorce to be permissible.

نا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: كَانَ شُرَيْحٌ، يَقُولُ:" مَتَى بَدَأَ بِالْيَمِينِ فِي الطَّلاقِ وَالْعَتَاقِ قَبْلَ ...

Shurayh used to say: "If a person begins the oath in divorce and emancipation before the exception, the divorce and emancipation take effect."

نا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ: إِنْ لَمْ يَحْنَثْ فَلا يَقَعُ عَلَيْهِ.

Sa'id ibn Jubayr said: "If the oath is not broken, the divorce does not take effect."
