Ibn Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) delivered a sermon and said: 'Indeed, Allah the Exalted has given every person of right his right. Verily, Allah has ordained obligations, established practices, and set limits. He has made lawful what is lawful and forbidden what is forbidden. He has legislated the religion and made it easy, lenient, and expansive, and He did not make it narrow. Indeed, there is no faith for one who has no trustworthiness, and there is no religion for one who does not keep his covenant. Whoever violates my covenant will not receive my intercession and will not come to my Pool.' Indeed, Allah the Exalted has not permitted killing except in three cases: an apostate after belief, an adulterer after being married, or one who kills a soul and is killed in retribution. Have I conveyed the message?
