Narrated Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him): When Allah the Exalted granted His Messenger (peace be upon him) victory over Mecca, he (peace be upon him) stood up among the people, praised and glorified Allah the Exalted, then said, "Allah the Exalted held back the Companions of the Elephant from Mecca and gave His Messenger (peace be upon him) and the believers power over it. And fighting in it was not made lawful for anyone before me, and it was made lawful for me for a single hour of the day. And now, after me, it will never be lawful for anyone. So its game is not to be startled, its thorns are not to be broken, and its lost property is not to be picked up except by a person who will announce it so as to hand it over to whoever it belongs to. And whoever's person is killed, he has the choice of two things: either to take the ransom (that is, blood-money), or to have the killer killed in retaliation." 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Except for the idhkhir (grass) (that is, do not forbid it), for we put it in our graves and use it in our houses (it is used in roofing)." So he (peace be upon him) said, "Very well, cut the idhkhir (that is, the grass is permitted)." Then a man from Yemen named Abu Shah stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Write it down for me." He (peace be upon him) said, "Write it down for Abu Shah." Walid said, "I asked al-Awza'i what was meant by, 'O Messenger of Allah! Write it down for me.' He said, 'This very sermon that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) delivered' (that is, Abu Shah had it written down for him, as it was a matter of great benefit)."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہجب اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو مکہ پر فتح دی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے لوگوں میں کھڑے ہو کر اللہ تعالیٰ کی، حمد و ثناء کی پھر فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے اصحاب فیل کو مکہ سے روک دیا اور اپنے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو اور مومنوں کو اس پر مسلط فرما دیا۔ اور مجھ سے پہلے اس میں لڑنا کسی کو حلال نہیں ہوا اور میرے لئے دن کی ایک گھڑی کے لئے حلال کیا گیا۔ اور اب میرے بعد کبھی بھی کسی کیلئے حلال نہ ہو گا۔ پھر اس کا شکار نہ بھگایا جائے، اس کا کانٹا نہ توڑا جائے، اس کی گری پڑی چیز نہ اٹھائی جائے مگر وہ شخص اٹھائے جو بتاتا پھرے کہ جس کی ہو، اسے دیدے۔ اور جس کا کوئی شخص قتل کر دیا گیا تو اس کو دو باتوں کا اختیار ہے خواہ فدیہ لے لے یعنی (خون بہا لے) اور خواہ قاتل کو قصاص میں مروا ڈالے۔ سیدنا عباس رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کی کہ اے اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! سوائے اذخر کے (کہ اس کو حرام نہ کیجئے) کہ ہم اس کو اپنی قبروں میں ڈالتے ہیں اور گھروں میں استعمال کرتے ہیں (چھت میں استعمال ہوتا ہے) تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ خیر اذخر (یعنی گھاس کی اجازت ہے) توڑ لو۔ پھر یمن کا ابوشاہ نامی ایک شخص اٹھا اور اس نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! مجھے لکھ دیجئیے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ابوشاہ کو لکھ دو۔ ولید نے کہا کہ میں نے اوزاعی سے پوچھا کہ اس کا کیا مطلب ہے کہ یا رسول اللہ! مجھے لکھ دیجئیے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہی خطبہ جو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا (یعنی اس کو ابوشاہ نے لکھوا لیا کہ بڑے نفع کی بات تھی)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 766]
