انگریزی ترجمہ
It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sent me (as a governor to Yemen) and said: You will come upon some people of the People of the Book, so call them to bear witness that there is no true god except Allah and that I (that is, Muhammad, peace be upon him) am the Messenger of Allah. If they accept this, then inform them that Allah has made obligatory upon them five prayers in every day and night. If they accept this, then inform them that Allah has made obligatory upon them the zakat, which is to be taken from their wealthy and given to their poor and needy. If they accept this, then beware of taking their choicest wealth (that is, in zakat take an average animal, and do not pick out the one with the best milk or the fat, fleshy one), and guard against the supplication of the oppressed, because between the supplication of the oppressed and Allah there is no barrier. اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہسیدنا معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے مجھے (یمن کی طرف حاکم کر کے) بھیجا تو فرمایا: تم کچھ اہل کتاب لوگوں سے ملو گے تو ان کو اس بات کی گواہی کی طرف بلانا کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود برحق نہیں اور میں (یعنی محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) اللہ کا بھیجا ہوا ہوں، اگر وہ اس کو مان لیں تو ان کو یہ بات بتلانا کہ اللہ نے ہر دن رات میں پانچ نمازیں فرض کی ہیں۔ اگر وہ اس بات کو مان لیں تو ان کو یہ بات بتلانا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان پر زکوٰۃ فرض کی ہے، جو ان کے مالداروں سے لے کر پھر انہی کے فقیروں اور محتاجوں کو دی جائے گی۔ اگر وہ اس بات کو مان لیں تو آگاہ رہو کہ ان کے عمدہ مال نہ لینا (یعنی زکوٰۃ میں متوسط جانور لینا، عمدہ دودھ والا اور پر گوشت فربہ چھانٹ کر نہ لینا) اور مظلوم کی بددعا سے بچنا کیونکہ مظلوم کی بددعا اور اللہ کے درمیان کوئی روک نہیں۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 501]
