Sayyiduna Amir ibn Sa'd said: Sayyiduna Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) was among his camels when his son Umar came (this is Umar ibn Sa'd, the same one who fought against Sayyiduna Husayn, may Allah be pleased with him, and who ruined his Hereafter for the sake of the world). When Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) saw him, he said: I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of this rider. Then he dismounted and said: You have settled among your camels and sheep and left the people to fight over sovereignty? (i.e., over the caliphate and rule). Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) struck him on the chest and said: Be quiet. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "Allah loves the servant who is God-fearing, self-sufficient, and hidden away in a corner (at the time of trials and discord, and does not corrupt his faith)." (Alas that Umar ibn Sa'd forgot his father's counsel.)
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا عامر بن سعد کہتے ہیں کہسیدنا سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ عنہ اپنے اونٹوں میں تھے کہ ان کا بیٹا عمر آیا (یہ عمر بن سعد وہی ہے جو سیدنا حسین رضی اللہ عنہ سے لڑا اور جس نے دنیا کے لئے اپنی آخرت برباد کی) جب سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس کو دیکھا تو کہا کہ میں اس سوار کے شر سے اللہ تعالیٰ کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔ پھر وہ اترا اور بولا کہ تم اپنے اونٹوں اور بکریوں میں اترے ہو اور لوگوں کو چھوڑ دیا وہ سلطنت کے لئے لڑ رہے ہیں؟ (یعنی خلافت اور حکومت کے لئے) سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس کے سینہ پر مارا اور کہا کہ چپ رہ۔ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرماتے تھے کہ اللہ اس بندے کو دوست رکھتا ہے جو پرہیزگار ہے، مالدار ہے اور (فتنے فساد کے وقت) ایک کونے میں چھپا بیٹھا ہے۔ (اور اپنا ایمان نہیں بگاڑتا۔ افسوس ہے کہ عمر بن سعد نے اپنے باپ کی نصیحت کو فراموش کیا)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2088]
