Narrated Salman (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "Standing guard for one day and night in the way of Allah is better than fasting and worshipping for a full month. And if he dies during it, this deed of his continues on (that is, its reward does not cease even after death but keeps increasing — this is special to this deed), and his provision continues to flow (as it does for the martyrs), and he is saved from the tribulation (that is, from the trial of the angels in the grave, or the punishment of the grave, or the whispering of Satan at the time of death)." اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا سلمان رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرماتے تھے کہ اللہ کی راہ میں ایک دن رات پہرہ چوکی دینا، ایک مہینہ بھر روزے رکھنے اور عبادت کرنے سے افضل ہے اور اگر اسی دوران فوت ہو جائے گا تو اس کا یہ کام برابر جاری رہے گا (یعنی اس کا ثواب مرنے کے بعد بھی موقوف نہ ہو گا بڑھتا ہی چلا جائے گا یہ اس عمل سے خاص ہے) اور اس کا رزق جاری ہو جائے گا (جو شہیدوں کو ملتا ہے) اور وہ فتنہ والوں سے بچ جائے گا۔ (یعنی قبر میں فرشتوں والی آزمائش یا عذاب قبر سے یا دم مرگ شیطان کے وسوسے سے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1075]
