It is narrated from Alqamah bin Wa'il that his father (may Allah be pleased with him) told him: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when a man came dragging another by a strap and said: "O Messenger of Allah, this man has killed my brother." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Did you kill him?" The (first man) said: "If he does not confess, I will bring witnesses against him." Then that man said: "Yes, I killed him." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "How did you kill him?" He said: "He and I were both beating leaves off a tree when he insulted me and angered me, so I struck him on the head with an axe and he died." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Do you have any wealth to give as ransom for your life?" He said: "I have nothing except this cloak and this axe." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Will your people ransom you?" He said: "I am not of enough worth to them for that." Then the Prophet threw the strap toward the heir of the slain man and said: "Take him away." The man took him and went off. When he turned his back, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "If he kills him, he will be just like him (that is, he will gain no rank or station, because he took his right in this world itself)." Hearing this, the man returned and said: "O Messenger of Allah, it has reached me that you said that if I kill him I will be just like him, and I only seized him by your order." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Do you not wish that he should carry away your sin and your brother's sin?" He said: "Yes, indeed, why not?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Then it will be so." Then he threw down his strap and released him. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1031]
اردو ترجمہ
علقمہ بن وائل سے روایت ہے کہان کے والد رضی اللہ عنہ نے انہیں بتایا کہ میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس بیٹھا ہوا تھا کہ اتنے میں ایک شخص دوسرے کو تسمہ سے کھینچتا ہوا آیا اور کہنے لگا کہ یا رسول اللہ! اس نے میرے بھائی کو مار ڈالا ہے۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کیا تو نے اس کو قتل کیا ہے؟ وہ (پہلا شخص) بولا اگر یہ اقرار نہیں کرے گا تو میں اس پر گواہ لاؤں گا۔ تب وہ شخص بولا کہ بیشک میں نے اس کو قتل کیا ہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تو نے کیسے قتل کیا ہے؟ وہ بولا کہ میں اور وہ دونوں درخت کے پتے جھاڑ رہے تھے کہ اتنے میں اس نے مجھے گالی دی اور مجھے غصہ دلایا تو میں نے کلہاڑی اس کے سر پر ماری اور وہ مر گیا۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تیرے پاس کچھ مال ہے جو اپنی جان کے بدلے میں دے؟ وہ بولا میرے پاس کچھ نہیں سوائے اس چادر اور کلہاڑی کے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تیری قوم کے لوگ تجھے چھڑائیں گے؟ اس نے کہا کہ ان کے پاس میری اتنی قدر نہیں ہے۔ تب آپ نے وہ تسمہ مقتول کے وارث کی طرف پھینک دیا اور فرمایا اسے لے جاؤ۔ وہ لے کر چل دیا۔ جب پیٹھ موڑی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اگر وہ اس کو قتل کرے گا تو اس کے برابر ہی رہے گا (یعنی نہ اس کو کوئی درجہ ملے گا نہ اس کو کوئی مرتبہ حاصل ہو گا کیونکہ اس نے اپنا حق دنیا ہی میں وصول کر لیا)۔ یہ سن کر وہ لوٹا اور کہنے لگا کہ یا رسول اللہ! مجھے خبر پہنچی ہے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے یہ فرمایا ہے کہ اگر میں اس کو قتل کروں گا تو اس کے برابر رہوں گا اور میں نے تو اس کو آپ کے حکم سے پکڑا ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تو یہ نہیں چاہتا کہ وہ تیرا اور تیرے بھائی کا گناہ سمیٹ لے؟ وہ بولا”جی ہاں کیوں نہیں“۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ یہ اسی طرح ہو گا۔ پھر اس نے اس کا تسمہ پھینک دیا اور اس کو چھوڑ دیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1031]
