أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا غَسَّانُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ* حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى عُمَرَ حِينَ طُعِنَ فَقَالَ «أَبْشِرْ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَسْلَمْتَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِينَ كَفَرَ النَّاسُ وَقَاتَلْتَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِينَ خَذَلَهُ النَّاسُ وَتُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ عَنْكَ رَاضٍ وَلَمْ يَخْتَلِفْ فِي خِلَافَتِكَ رَجُلَانِ وَقُتِلْتَ شَهِيدًا» فَقَالَ أَعِدْ فَأَعَادَ فَقَالَ «الْمَغْرُورُ مَنْ غَرَرْتُمُوهُ لَوْ أَنَّ مَا عَلَى ظَهْرِهَا مِنْ بَيْضَاءَ وَصَفْرَاءَ لَافْتَدَيْتُ بِهِ مِنْ هَوْلِ الْمَطْلَعِ»
انگریزی ترجمہ
Ibn Abbas narrated that he entered upon Umar when he was stabbed and said: 'Rejoice, O Commander of the Faithful! You accepted Islam with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when people disbelieved, and you strove with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) when people turned away, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) passed away while he was pleased with you, and you have not differed regarding the succession, and you have been given martyrdom.'
