Ahmad bin Ali bin al-Muthanna narrated to us. He said: Yahya bin Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us from Shu'bah. He said: Mansur informed me from Rib'i bin Hirash from a man from his people from Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah will gather the people, and the believers will stand until Paradise is brought near to them. They will come to Adam and say: 'O our father, ask that Paradise be opened for us.' He will say: 'Did anything expel you from Paradise except your father's sin? I am not the one for this. Go to my son Ibrahim, the beloved of the Most Merciful.' He said: So Ibrahim will say: 'I am not the one for this. Go to Musa, whom Allah spoke to directly.' So Musa will say: 'I am not the one for this. Go to Isa, the word of Allah and His spirit.' So Isa will say: 'I am not the one for this.' So they will come to Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he will stand and be given permission. Trustworthiness and kinship ties will be sent, and they will stand on the right and left of the Bridge. The first of you will pass like lightning." I said: May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, what is like lightning? He said: "Have you not seen lightning, how it goes and returns in the blink of an eye? Then like the wind, then like birds, then like the running of men. Your Prophet will stand on the Bridge saying: 'O Lord, grant safety, grant safety,' until the deeds of the servants become weak, and a man will come unable to move except by crawling." He said: "And on both sides of the Bridge are hooks commanded to seize whomever they are ordered to seize. Some will be scratched and escape, and others will be thrown into Hell." Abu Hurayrah said: By the One in whose hand is the soul of Abu Hurayrah, the depth of Hell is seventy autumns.
