Hadrat Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated a lengthy hadith about the Dajjal from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), including the story of a believing man who goes to confront him, recognizes him by the description of the Noble Prophet, and calls out: "O people, this is the lying Masih!" The Dajjal splits him in two, then brings him back to life. The believer says: "Now I am even more certain about you than before." The Dajjal tries to kill him again but cannot, and casts him into what appears to be fire but is actually paradise. This man is the closest of the Ummah to the Noble Prophet in rank. The Companions used to think this man was Hadrat 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be well pleased with him) until he passed away. This is the most remarkable hadith regarding the Dajjal. It was narrated solely by 'Atiyyah ibn Sa'd from Abu Sa'id, and the two Shaykhs did not use 'Atiyyah as a proof. 'Atiyyah is weak.

حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے دجال کے بارے میں طویل حدیث مروی ہے جس میں ایک مومن شخص کا قصہ ہے جو دجال کے مقابلے جاتا ہے، نبی کریم کی نشانیوں سے اسے پہچانتا ہے اور پکار کر کہتا ہے: «اے لوگو! یہ مسیح کذاب ہے!» دجال اسے دو ٹکڑے کرتا ہے پھر زندہ کرتا ہے۔ مومن کہتا ہے: «اب مجھے پہلے سے زیادہ یقین ہو گیا۔» دجال دوبارہ قتل کرنا چاہتا ہے مگر نہیں کر سکتا اور اسے آگ میں ڈالتا ہے جو دراصل جنت ہے۔ یہ شخص تمام امت میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے درجے میں سب سے قریب ہے۔ صحابہ سمجھتے تھے کہ یہ شخص حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ہیں یہاں تک کہ ان کا انتقال ہو گیا۔ یہ دجال کے بارے میں سب سے عجیب حدیث ہے۔ اسے صرف عطیہ بن سعد نے ابو سعید خدری سے روایت کیا ہے اور شیخین نے عطیہ سے احتجاج نہیں کیا۔ عطیہ ضعیف ہے۔
