Hadrat Abu al-Tufayl (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: I was in Kufa when it was said: "The Dajjal has emerged." We went to Hadrat Hudhayfah ibn Asid (may Allah be well pleased with him) while he was narrating. I said: "The Dajjal has come out!" He said: "Sit down." So I sat. The chief came and said: "The Dajjal has come out and the people of Kufa are fighting him." He said: "Sit down." Then it was announced that it was a false alarm. We said: "O Abu Sarihah, you made us sit only for a reason, so narrate to us." He said: "Had the Dajjal emerged in your time, the children would have pelted him with pebbles. But the Dajjal shall emerge in a time of hatred among people, weakness of religion, and broken ties. He shall pass by every watering-place and the earth shall be folded for him like the folding of a ram's fleece, until he comes to Madinah and prevails over its outskirts while its interior is defended. Then [he shall go to] the mountain of Iliya' and besiege a group of Muslims. Their leaders shall say: 'What are you waiting for regarding this tyrant? Fight him until you reach Allah or He grants you victory.' They shall resolve to fight him in the morning, and they shall awaken to find 'Isa ibn Maryam (upon him be peace) with them. He shall slay the Dajjal and rout his followers, until the tree, stone, and clod of earth shall say: 'O believer, here is a Jew behind me — kill him.' He has three signs: he is one-eyed, and your Lord is not one-eyed; written between his eyes is 'kafir' which every believer shall read, literate or illiterate; and the only mount given to him shall be a donkey — filth upon filth." Then he said: "I am more fearful for myself and for you of something other than the Dajjal." We said: "What is it, O Abu Sarihah?" He said: "Tribulations like pieces of dark night." We said: "Who among the people shall be worst therein?" He said: "Every eloquent orator and every galloping rider." We said: "Who shall be best?" He said: "Every wealthy obscure person." I said: "I am neither wealthy nor obscure." He said: "Then be like a young camel — no back to be ridden nor udder to be milked."

حضرت ابو الطفیل رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے: میں کوفہ میں تھا کہ کہا گیا: «دجال نکل آیا ہے۔» ہم حضرت حذیفہ بن اسید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے پاس آئے جبکہ وہ بیان فرما رہے تھے۔ میں نے کہا: «دجال نکل آیا ہے!» فرمایا: «بیٹھو۔» میں بیٹھ گیا۔ عریف آیا اور کہا: «دجال نکلا ہے اور اہلِ کوفہ اس سے لڑ رہے ہیں۔» فرمایا: «بیٹھو۔» پھر اعلان ہوا کہ یہ جھوٹی خبر ہے۔ ہم نے عرض کیا: «اے ابو سریحہ! آپ نے ہمیں کسی وجہ سے بٹھایا ہے، ہمیں بتائیں۔» فرمایا: «اگر دجال تمہارے زمانے میں نکلتا تو بچے اسے کنکریاں مارتے۔ لیکن دجال لوگوں میں بغض، دین کی ہلکائی اور آپسی تعلقات کی خرابی کے وقت نکلے گا۔ وہ ہر گھاٹ پر آئے گا اور زمین اس کے لیے مینڈھے کی کھال کی طرح سمیٹ دی جائے گی یہاں تک کہ مدینہ آئے گا اور باہر سے غالب ہوگا مگر اندر سے روکا جائے گا۔ پھر ایلیاء کا پہاڑ، وہاں مسلمانوں کی ایک جماعت کا محاصرہ کرے گا۔ ان کے سردار کہیں گے: اس طاغوت سے لڑنے میں کیا انتظار ہے؟ لڑو یہاں تک کہ اللہ سے مل جاؤ یا فتح ہو۔ وہ عزم کریں گے کہ صبح لڑیں گے، صبح ہوگی تو ان کے ساتھ عیسیٰ بن مریم علیہ السلام ہوں گے جو دجال کو قتل کریں گے اور اس کے ساتھیوں کو شکست دیں گے، یہاں تک کہ درخت، پتھر اور ڈھیلا کہے گا: اے مومن! یہاں میرے پیچھے ایک یہودی ہے، اسے قتل کرو۔ اس میں تین نشانیاں ہیں: وہ کانا ہے اور تمہارا رب کانا نہیں، اس کی آنکھوں کے درمیان کافر لکھا ہوگا جسے ہر مومن پڑھے گا خواہ ان پڑھ ہو یا لکھا پڑھا، اور اسے سواری میں صرف گدھا دیا جائے گا — نجاست پر نجاست۔» پھر فرمایا: «مجھے اپنے اور تمہارے بارے میں دجال کے علاوہ اور چیز کا زیادہ ڈر ہے۔» ہم نے عرض کیا: «وہ کیا ہے اے ابو سریحہ؟» فرمایا: «فتنے جو اندھیری رات کے ٹکڑوں جیسے ہوں گے۔» ہم نے عرض کیا: «ان میں سب سے برا کون ہوگا؟» فرمایا: «ہر تقریر کرنے والا خطیب اور ہر تیز دوڑنے والا سوار۔» ہم نے عرض کیا: «سب سے بہتر کون؟» فرمایا: «ہر وہ مالدار جو گمنام ہو۔» میں نے عرض کیا: «میں نہ مالدار ہوں نہ گمنام۔» فرمایا: «تو ابنِ لبون کی طرح ہو جاؤ — نہ سواری کی پیٹھ نہ دودھ کا تھن۔»
