Hadrat Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: 'We were with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) on a journey. Some of his Companions had fallen behind in the march. He raised his voice reciting these two verses: "O mankind! Fear your Lord! Indeed, the earthquake of the Hour is a tremendous thing. On the Day when you see it, every nursing mother will forget her nursling, and every pregnant woman will deliver her burden, and you will see the people intoxicated, yet they will not be intoxicated, but the punishment of Allah is severe." When his Companions heard this, they spurred their mounts, knowing he had something to say. He stated: "Do you know what Day that is?" They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He stated: "It is the Day when Allah will call upon Adam and say: O Adam, send forth the contingent of the Fire. He will say: O Lord, what is the contingent of the Fire? He will say: From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine to the Fire and one to Paradise." His Companions were dismayed and none of them smiled. When the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) saw their distress, he stated: "Take heart and be glad! By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, you are with two creations that were never with anything except that they outnumbered it: Ya'juj and Ma'juj, and those who perished from the children of Adam and the children of Iblis." Some of the people's distress was relieved. Then he stated: "Take heart and rejoice! By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, among all people you are but like a mark on the side of a camel or like a brand on the foreleg of a beast."'

حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: 'ہم ایک سفر میں حضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ تھے۔ بعض صحابہ سفر میں پیچھے رہ گئے۔ آپ نے بلند آواز سے یہ دو آیات تلاوت فرمائیں: "اے لوگو! اپنے رب سے ڈرو! بے شک قیامت کا زلزلہ بڑی بھاری چیز ہے۔ جس دن تم اسے دیکھو گے ہر دودھ پلانے والی اپنے بچے کو بھول جائے گی اور ہر حاملہ اپنا بوجھ گرا دے گی اور تم لوگوں کو مدہوش دیکھو گے حالانکہ وہ نشے میں نہ ہوں گے لیکن اللہ کا عذاب سخت ہے۔" جب صحابہ نے یہ سنا تو انہوں نے سواریاں تیز کیں اور سمجھ گئے کہ آپ کچھ فرمانا چاہتے ہیں۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: "کیا تم جانتے ہو وہ کون سا دن ہے؟" عرض کیا: اللہ اور اس کا رسول بہتر جانتے ہیں۔ فرمایا: "وہ دن ہے جب اللہ تعالیٰ آدم کو پکارے گا اور فرمائے گا: اے آدم! جہنم والوں کو بھیجو۔ وہ عرض کریں گے: اے رب! جہنم کا حصہ کتنا ہے؟ فرمائے گا: ہر ہزار میں سے نو سو ننانوے جہنم میں اور ایک جنت میں۔" صحابہ مایوس ہو گئے اور کسی نے مسکراہٹ نہ دکھائی۔ جب حضور صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے صحابہ کی یہ حالت دیکھی تو ارشاد فرمایا: "خوش ہو جاؤ اور بشارت سنو! قسم اس ذات کی جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد کی جان ہے، تم دو مخلوقات کے ساتھ ہو جو کسی چیز کے ساتھ نہیں ہوئیں مگر اسے تعداد میں بڑھا دیا: یاجوج و ماجوج اور بنی آدم اور بنی ابلیس میں سے جو ہلاک ہوئے۔" تو لوگوں کی کچھ پریشانی دور ہوئی۔ پھر فرمایا: "خوش ہو جاؤ اور خوشخبری سنو! قسم اس ذات کی جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد کی جان ہے، تم لوگوں میں ایسے ہو جیسے اونٹ کے پہلو میں تِل یا جانور کے بازو پر نشان۔"'
