انگریزی ترجمہ
Narrated Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): One day the Prophet (peace be upon him) climbed upon Safa and began to call out, "(O the morning danger!) O people, come running!" Hearing this, all the Quraysh gathered and asked, "What is the matter?" He (peace be upon him) said, "If I were to tell you that an enemy is about to attack you in the morning or in the evening, would you believe me to be truthful?" All said, "Yes, certainly." He (peace be upon him) said, "(Well then, believe this word of mine as truthful too, that) I warn you of a severe punishment before it comes (so desist from disbelief)." Abu Lahab said, "(We seek refuge in Allah!) May your hands perish! Was it only for this that you gathered us?" So at that time Allah the Exalted revealed the entire Surah: "The two hands of Abu Lahab have perished, and he (himself) has perished."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہایک روز نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمصفا پر چڑھے اور فرمانے لگے:”(یا صباحاہ!) اے لوگو دوڑو!“یہ سن کر قریش سب جمع ہو گئے اور پوچھا کہ کیا بات ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اگر میں تم کو خبر دوں کہ ایک دشمن صبح یا شام کو تم پر حملہ کرنے والا ہے تو کیا تم مجھے سچا مانو گے؟“سب نے کہا ہاں بیشک۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”(اچھا تو تم میری اس بات کو بھی سچا جانو کہ) میں تمہیں سخت عذاب کے آنے سے پہلے ہی اس سے ڈراتا ہوں (لہٰذا تم کفر سے باز آؤ)۔“ابولہب نے کہا”(نعوذباللہ!) تیرے ہاتھ ٹوٹ جائیں! کیا ہمیں محض اسی واسطے جمع کیا تھا؟“تو اس وقت اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ سورۃ”ابولہب کے دونوں ہاتھ ٹوٹ گئے اور وہ (خود) ہلاک ہو گیا“پوری سورت اتاری۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1768]
