Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be well pleased with her) narrates that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was fond of sweets and honey. After the Asr prayer, he would visit his blessed wives (may Allah be well pleased with them) in their chambers and sit near them. Once he visited Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Hafsa (may Allah be well pleased with her) and stayed longer than usual. I inquired and was told that a woman from her clan had gifted her a leather container of honey, and she had given the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) a drink of it. I said: By Allah, we shall certainly devise a plan. So I mentioned it to Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Sawda (may Allah be well pleased with her) and said: When he comes to you and draws near, say: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Have you eaten Maghafir? He will say: No. Then say: What is this odor? (For the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) disliked that any unpleasant smell be found on his blessed person.) He will say: Hadrat Hafsa gave me a drink of honey. Then say: Its bees must have sucked from the Urfut (a foul-smelling plant). And I will say the same, and Hadrat Safiyya, you say the same too. When he visited Hadrat Sawda (may Allah be well pleased with her), she says: By Him besides Whom there is no god! I almost said it to him in haste while he was still at the door, out of fear of you. When he drew near, I submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Have you eaten Maghafir? He declared: No. I said: Then what is this odor? He said: Hadrat Hafsa gave me a drink of honey. I said: Its bees must have sucked from the Urfut. When he came to me, I said the same. When he visited Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Safiyya (may Allah be well pleased with her), she too said the same. He declared: I have no need of it. Hadrat Sawda (may Allah be well pleased with her) said: Subhan Allah! We have deprived him of it! I said to her: Be quiet.
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم حلوا اور شہد پسند فرماتے تھے۔ عصر کی نماز کے بعد آپ اپنی ازواج مطہرات رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہن کے حجروں میں تشریف لے جاتے اور ان کے قریب ہوتے۔ ایک مرتبہ آپ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کے ہاں تشریف لے گئے اور معمول سے زیادہ دیر ٹھہرے۔ میں نے اس کے بارے میں پوچھا تو مجھے بتایا گیا کہ ان کی قوم کی ایک خاتون نے انہیں شہد کا ایک مشکیزہ تحفے میں دیا تھا اور انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو اس کا شربت پلایا تھا۔ میں نے کہا: اللہ کی قسم! ہم ضرور اس میں حیلہ کریں گے۔ میں نے حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین سودہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے ذکر کیا اور کہا: جب آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم تمہارے پاس آئیں اور قریب ہوں تو کہنا: یا رسول اللہ! کیا آپ نے مغافیر کھایا ہے؟ آپ فرمائیں گے: نہیں۔ تو کہنا: پھر یہ بو کیسی ہے؟ (کیونکہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو یہ بات بہت ناگوار تھی کہ آپ کے جسم اطہر سے بو آئے۔) آپ فرمائیں گے: حفصہ نے مجھے شہد کا شربت پلایا ہے۔ تو کہنا: اس شہد کی مکھیوں نے عرفط کا رس چوسا ہوگا۔ اور میں بھی یہی کہوں گی اور صفیہ! تم بھی یہی کہنا۔ جب آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین سودہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کے ہاں تشریف لے گئے تو حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین سودہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہافرماتی ہیں: اس ذات کی قسم جس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں! تمہارے خوف سے قریب تھا کہ آپ کے دروازے پر ہونے کے باوجود میں یہ بات جلدی سے کہہ دیتی۔ جب آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم قریب آئے تو میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! کیا آپ نے مغافیر کھایا ہے؟ فرمایا: نہیں۔ عرض کیا: پھر یہ بو کیسی ہے؟ فرمایا: حفصہ نے مجھے شہد کا شربت پلایا ہے۔ میں نے عرض کیا: اس شہد کی مکھیوں نے عرفط کا رس چوسا ہوگا۔ جب آپ میرے پاس تشریف لائے تو میں نے بھی یہی عرض کیا۔ اور حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین صفیہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کے پاس تشریف لے گئے تو انہوں نے بھی یہی عرض کیا۔ جب دوبارہ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کے پاس تشریف لے گئے تو انہوں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! کیا میں آپ کو وہ شہد پلاؤں؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: مجھے اس کی ضرورت نہیں۔ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین سودہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے کہا: سبحان اللہ! ہم نے آپ کو اس سے محروم کر دیا۔ میں نے ان سے کہا: خاموش رہو۔
