It is narrated by Hadrat Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stood on the pulpit and declared: "What I fear for you after me is that the blessings and adornments of the earth will be opened up before you." Then he mentioned the splendour of the world. A man stood and submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Can good bring about evil? The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) fell silent — we thought revelation was descending upon him. The people were so still as if birds were perched upon their heads. Then he wiped the perspiration from his blessed face and stated: "Where is the questioner just now? Is this good? — he said three times — Indeed, good brings only good. But the spring vegetation is such that it kills (the grazing animal) by bloating it, or nearly kills it, except the animal that eats and when its sides are full, turns to the sun, defecates and urinates, then grazes again. Indeed, this wealth is green and sweet. What an excellent companion it is for a Muslim who takes it rightfully and spends it in the path of Allah, on orphans, and on the poor. And whoever takes it without its right is like one who eats but is never satisfied, and it will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection."
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم منبر پر کھڑے ہوئے اور ارشاد فرمایا: "مجھے تمہارے بارے میں میرے بعد جس چیز کا اندیشہ ہے وہ یہ ہے کہ تم پر دنیا کی برکات اور زینت کھولی جائیں گی۔" پھر آپ نے دنیا کی رونق کا ذکر فرمایا۔ ایک آدمی کھڑا ہوا اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! کیا بھلائی بھی برائی لاتی ہے؟ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم خاموش ہو گئے، ہم نے سمجھا کہ آپ پر وحی نازل ہو رہی ہے۔ لوگ خاموش ہو گئے گویا ان کے سروں پر پرندے بیٹھے ہوئے ہیں۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اپنے چہرۂ مبارک سے پسینہ پونچھا اور ارشاد فرمایا: "ابھی سوال کرنے والا کہاں ہے؟ کیا یہ بھلائی ہے؟ — تین بار فرمایا — بے شک بھلائی بھلائی ہی لاتی ہے۔ لیکن بہار کی سبزہ زار ایسی ہے جو (جانور کو) ہلاک کر دیتی ہے یا ہلاکت کے قریب کر دیتی ہے، سوائے اس جانور کے جو سبزہ کھاتا ہے، یہاں تک کہ جب اس کے پہلو بھر جاتے ہیں تو وہ دھوپ کی طرف منہ کرتا ہے، پھر گوبر کرتا ہے اور پیشاب کرتا ہے (یعنی ہضم کرتا ہے) پھر دوبارہ چرتا ہے۔ بے شک یہ مال سرسبز اور شیریں ہے اور کیا ہی اچھا ساتھی ہے مسلمان کا اگر وہ اسے حق کے ساتھ لے اور اللہ کے راستے میں، یتیموں پر اور مسکینوں پر خرچ کرے۔ اور جو اسے حق سے نہ لے وہ ایسا ہے جیسے کھانے والا جو کبھی سیر نہ ہو، اور قیامت کے دن یہ مال اس کے خلاف گواہ ہوگا۔"
