Muhammad bin Yusuf narrated to us, al-Awza'i (upon him be mercy) narrated to us, from al-Zuhri (upon him be mercy), from Sa'id bin al-Musayyab and Urwa bin al-Zubayr (upon them be mercy), from Hadrat Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be well pleased with him), he stated: I asked the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and he granted me. Then I asked again and he granted me. Then he declared to me: O Hakim, indeed this wealth is green and sweet. Whoever takes it with generosity of soul, he will be blessed in it. And whoever takes it with greed of soul, he will not be blessed in it, and he will be like the one who eats but is never satiated. And the upper hand is better than the lower hand. Hadrat Hakim (may Allah be well pleased with him) stated: I submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), by the One Who sent you with the truth, I shall not ask anyone for anything after you until I depart from this world. So Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) would call Hadrat Hakim (may Allah be well pleased with him) to give him his share, but he would refuse to accept it. Then Hadrat Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him) called him to give him, but he refused to accept. Hadrat Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: O Muslims, I make you witnesses over Hakim that I offer him his right which Allah the Exalted has allocated for him from this war booty, yet he refuses to accept it. Hadrat Hakim (may Allah be well pleased with him) did not take anything from anyone after the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) until he passed away.
اردو ترجمہ
ہم سے محمد بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، ہم سے اوزاعی رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ نے بیان کیا، زہری رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ سے، سعید بن المسیب اور عروہ بن الزبیر رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہما سے، حضرت حکیم بن حزام رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے، انہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے مانگا تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے مجھے عطا فرمایا، پھر میں نے مانگا تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے عطا فرمایا، پھر مجھ سے ارشاد فرمایا: اے حکیم! بے شک یہ مال سرسبز اور شیریں ہے۔ جو شخص اسے سخاوتِ نفس سے لے اس کے لیے اس میں برکت ہوتی ہے، اور جو شخص اسے لالچ سے لے اس کے لیے اس میں برکت نہیں ہوتی، اور وہ ایسے شخص کی مانند ہے جو کھائے اور سیر نہ ہو۔ اور اوپر والا ہاتھ نیچے والے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہے۔ حضرت حکیم رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ بھیجا، آپ کے بعد میں کسی سے کچھ نہیں مانگوں گا یہاں تک کہ دنیا سے رخصت ہو جاؤں۔ چنانچہ حضرت ابو بکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ حضرت حکیم رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو بلاتے تاکہ انہیں عطا دیں لیکن وہ قبول کرنے سے انکار فرماتے۔ پھر حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے انہیں بلایا تاکہ انہیں دیں لیکن انہوں نے لینے سے انکار فرما دیا۔ تو حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: اے مسلمانو! میں تمہیں حکیم پر گواہ بناتا ہوں کہ میں انہیں ان کا حق پیش کرتا ہوں جو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس مالِ فے سے ان کے لیے نکالا ہے لیکن وہ قبول نہیں کرتے۔ حضرت حکیم رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے بعد کسی سے کچھ نہیں لیا یہاں تک کہ ان کا انتقال ہو گیا۔
