Ali ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, he said: Abu Malik narrated to us from Abu Hazim from Abu Hurairah and from Rib'i from Hudhayfah (may Allah be well pleased with them) who both said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «People will be gathered, meaning on the Day of Resurrection. They will come to Adam and say: 'O our father, open Paradise for us.' He will say: 'Did anything expel you from Paradise except the sin of your father Adam? I am not the one for this. Go to Ibrahim, the Friend of his Lord.' Ibrahim will say: 'I am not the one for this. I was only a friend from afar. Go to the one whom Allah spoke to directly.' They will come to Musa, and he will say: 'I am not the one for this. Go to the Word of Allah and His Spirit, Isa.' He will say: 'I am not the one for this. Go to Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).' They will come to Muhammad and he will intercede. Then the Bridge will be set up. The first of you will pass like lightning—I said: 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for you!'—then like the wind, the birds, and the swift running of men. Your Prophet will be upon the Bridge saying: 'O Allah, grant safety, grant safety,' until people cross over. Then a man will come who can only crawl. From the sides of the Bridge are suspended hooks that seize whomever they are commanded to seize. Some will be scratched but saved, while others will be hurled into the Fire.» Then he said: By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Abu Hurairah, verily the depth of Hell is seventy autumns. This hadith, we do not know it to be narrated from Hudhayfah from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) except through this manner, and we do not know anyone who attributed it from Abu Malik except Ibn Fudayl. Others besides Ibn Fudayl narrated it from Abu Malik as a statement of the Companion (mawquf).

ہمیں علی بن منذر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا: ہمیں محمد بن فضیل نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا: ہمیں ابو مالک نے ابو حازم سے بیان کیا، انہوں نے ابو ہریرہ سے، اور ربعی سے، انہوں نے حضرت حذیفہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت کی، دونوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «لوگ جمع ہوں گے یعنی قیامت کے دن۔ وہ آدم علیہ السلام کے پاس آئیں گے اور کہیں گے: اے ہمارے باپ! ہمارے لیے جنت کا دروازہ کھولیں۔ وہ کہیں گے: کیا تمہیں جنت سے نکالا سوائے تمہارے باپ آدم کے گناہ کے؟ میں اس کا اہل نہیں۔ ابراہیم خلیل الرحمن کے پاس جاؤ۔ ابراہیم کہیں گے: میں اس کا اہل نہیں۔ میں تو دور سے خلیل تھا۔ اس کے پاس جاؤ جس سے اللہ نے کلام کیا۔ وہ موسیٰ کے پاس آئیں گے، وہ کہیں گے: میں اس کا اہل نہیں۔ کلمۃ اللہ اور روح اللہ عیسیٰ کے پاس جاؤ۔ وہ کہیں گے: میں اس کا اہل نہیں۔ محمد صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس جاؤ۔ وہ محمد صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس آئیں گے تو وہ شفاعت کریں گے۔ پھر پل نصب کیا جائے گا۔ تم میں سے پہلے بجلی کی طرح گزریں گے—میں نے کہا: میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان—پھر ہوا، پرندے اور تیز دوڑنے والے آدمیوں کی طرح۔ اور تمہارے نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم پل پر کھڑے ہوں گے اور کہیں گے: اے اللہ! سلامتی عطا فرما، سلامتی عطا فرما، یہاں تک کہ لوگ گزر جائیں گے۔ پھر ایک آدمی آئے گا جو رینگنے کے سوا کچھ نہیں کر سکتا۔ اور پل کے کناروں پر لٹکے ہوئے کانٹے ہوں گے جو جسے حکم دیا جائے اسے پکڑ لیں گے۔ پس کوئی خراش کھا کر بچ جائے گا اور کوئی آگ میں ڈال دیا جائے گا۔» پھر فرمایا: اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں ابوہریرہ کی جان ہے! بے شک جہنم کی گہرائی ستر خریف (سال) ہے۔ یہ حدیث، ہمارے علم میں حذیفہ سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے صرف اسی طریقے سے روایت ہوئی ہے، اور ہمارے علم میں ابو مالک سے مرفوع صرف ابن فضیل نے روایت کی ہے۔ ابن فضیل کے علاوہ نے ابو مالک سے موقوف روایت کی۔
