Yahya narrated to us, from Abd al-Malik, from Ata', from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Allah has one hundred mercies. He sent down one mercy among mankind, jinn, and creatures. By it they show compassion to one another, by it they show mercy to one another, and by it wild animals show affection to their young. He has reserved ninety-nine mercies for the Day of Resurrection, by which He will show mercy to His servants."
