Abu Hurayrah narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said: "Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has angels who roam about seeking gatherings of remembrance. When they find a gathering where Allah is being remembered, they sit with them and cover one another with their wings, filling the space between them and the sky of this world. When the people disperse, they ascend to heaven. Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, asks them - though He knows best - 'Where have you come from?' They say: 'We have come from servants of Yours on earth who glorify You, exalt You, praise You, declare Your oneness, and ask of You.' He says: 'What do they ask of Me?' They say: 'They ask You for Your Paradise.' He says: 'Have they seen My Paradise?' They say: 'No, O Lord.' He says: 'How would it be if they had seen My Paradise?' They say: 'And they seek Your protection.' He says: 'From what do they seek My protection?' They say: 'From Your Fire, O Lord.' He says: 'Have they seen My Fire?' They say: 'No.' He says: 'And they seek Your forgiveness.' He says: 'I have forgiven them, given them what they asked for, and granted them protection from what they sought refuge from.' They say: 'O Lord, among them is so-and-so, a sinful servant who merely passed by and sat with them.' He says: 'I have forgiven them. They are the people whose companions shall not be wretched.'"
