Yazid told us, Hammam ibn Yahya informed us, from Qatadah, from Abu al-Hakam al-Bajali, from Ibn 'Umar, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Whoever keeps a dog, other than a dog for herding, guarding livestock, or hunting, a qirat is deducted from his good deeds every day." I said to Ibn 'Umar, "What if it is in a house, and I dislike it being there?" He said, "That is upon the owner of the house who possesses it."
