Bahz told us, Shu'bah told us, Abd al-Malik ibn Maysarah told me, who said: I heard al-Nazzal ibn Sabrah relate from Abdullah, who said: "I heard a man reciting a verse differently from how the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had taught me, so I took him by the hand and brought him to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: 'Both of you have indeed done well.'" He said: "And he became angry, until the anger was recognized in his face." Shu'bah said: "To the best of my belief, he said: 'Do not differ, for those before you differed about it and perished.'"
