Ya'la told us: Muhammad - meaning Ibn Ishaq - told us, from Bukayr bin 'Abdullah bin al-Ashajj, from Sulayman bin Yasar, from Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "I freed a slave-girl of mine. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came in to me, and I told him of her manumission. He said: 'May Allah reward you. Had you given her to your maternal relatives, it would have been greater in reward for you.'"
