Affan told us: Wuhayb told us: Ayyub told us, from Nafi', the freed slave of Ibn Umar, from Sulayman b. Yasar, from Umm Salamah, that Fatimah suffered from prolonged bleeding, and she used to bathe in a basin of hers and come out with the discharge still tinged with yellowness and murkiness. Umm Salamah sought a ruling for her from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: "Let her wait for the days of her usual menstrual cycle and abstain from prayer during them, and bathe apart from that, and bind a cloth, and pray."
