حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ دَخَلَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَقَالَ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنِّي أَخْشَى أَنْ أَكُونَ قَدْ هَلَكْتُ إِنِّي مِنْ أَكْثَرِ قُرَيْشٍ مَالًا بِعْتُ أَرْضًا لِي بِأَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفَ دِينَارٍ فَقَالَتْ أَنْفِقْ يَا بُنَيَّ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي مَنْ لَا يَرَانِي بَعْدَ أَنْ أُفَارِقَهُ فَأَتَيْتُ عُمَرَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَأَتَاهَا فَقَالَ بِاللَّهِ أَنَا مِنْهُمْ قَالَتْ اللَّهُمَّ لَا وَلَنْ أُبَرِّئَ أَحَدًا بَعْدَكَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Muhammad b. Ubayd told us: al-A'mash told us, from Shaqiq, who said: Abd al-Rahman b. Awf entered upon Umm Salamah and said, "O Mother of the Believers, I fear that I may be ruined; I am among the wealthiest of Quraysh - I sold a piece of land of mine for forty thousand dinars." She said: "Spend, my son, for I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Among my Companions are some who will not see me again after I part from them.'" So I went to Umar and told him, and he came to her and said, "By Allah, am I one of them?" She said: "By Allah, no, and I will never again absolve anyone after you."
